Our consultants, whilst fully conversant and experienced in the pulping and production of paper from woodpulp, have unusually wide experience in the use of so-called vegetable fibres.

These range from the various forms of cotton to ramie, hemp, abaca, sizal, jute, bagasse, bamboo, grasses and kenaf. There is also first-hand experience within the consultancy of the collection, distribution and processing of recycled waste paper.

We are experienced in the production of papers produced from these fibres, which include watermarked writing paper, security paper, specialised printing paper, soft tissues, and commodity grades.

The environmental implications of pulping non-wood fibres are fully understood. There is considerable in-house expertise in the treatment of effluents, including the use of black liquor reactors and the assessment of the aquatic toxicity of pulp and paper mill effluents and water supplies.
